The
Mahatma Malachite
Seal of Poor Quality
The Industry Substandard

This is the Seal of Poor Quality.
If an item carries the Seal of Poor Quality, suspect foul play.
It may be poorly dyed, poorly cut, poorly drilled, or might even smell.
Not worse than a similar strand from another dealer, but follow the old
English tradition of, "Be on your toes."
However, the absence of the Seal of Poor Quality does not guarantee superior
quality.
And if you look closely you'll see it's the Seal of Poor Quality,
not the Rat of Poor Quality.
And some items look and feel a little better anyway with that funky, hut-made
look.

Fossil
Beads
Fossil beads are dyed. Hot pink. Raspberry,
the color of black raspberry juice on your hands. Concord grapes.
Fossil beads probably began as limestone. We don't know for sure. At a
buck or so a strand, we may never need or want to know. We stock only
your ten favorite colors plus one. And depending on the supplier we've
last used,
color tones may vary.
15-16 inch strands.

Fossil Bead Disclaimer
Most fossilstone colors are mottled, not solid.
The black tends to be dark grey.
Don't buy it thinking you are going to substitute it for black onyx.
The fossil beads may run hideously across your white blouse
with no warning.

Since the stone beads are not man-made, you can expect variations from
batch to batch.
If a ryolite mine in Ubangastan disappears, they may have to find another
in Alternatavia
and the colors and textures in the stone may change.
Et-Cet-Era Et-Cet-Era Et-Cet-Era
Many of the stones are enhanced
(dyed, heat treated, irradiated).

34
to 36 Inch Endless Chips
I love chips. Everyone of the "My
Three Sons" era loves chips.
They are halfway between a rock and a piece of jewelry.
These are usually on monofilament (clear fishline) and are strung as one
continuous loop.
There is no clasp.
Some diversity here from batch to batch.
The Indian chips are frequently a "#1" size,
most of the rest are the "#2" size.
And they come from different continents.
Mix & Match all of the chips for the price breaks.

We will always be out of something.
That's the nature of the stone business.
We usually
don't carry blue topaz, aqua or some of the Indian stones
because we frequently find those stones leak.
The fossil beads and the chips are stand-alone beads
with no co-mingling (mix and match) with other beads
on other pages of this catalogue.
