Mexican silver is... also known as alpaca or nickel silver or German Silver or even white metal.
To be precise, it's usually 48 to 87% copper, 7 to 32% nickel and 5 to 36% zinc. Glad I could help.
Many of these pieces are silver or rhodium plated but not always.
Virginally, the Mexican silver has a copper tinge to it.
These are usually handmade in Taxco.

Usually these items are abalone in black epoxy.
Occasionally it is crushed turquoise or another material and it isn't laid in black epoxy.

There is no silver in Mexican silver.

Some of the dimes are foreign.
