| We
Carry No "Nice" Strands of Beads. You may not like the shade of a strand of beads we carry. But we might. If you ask us to pick out a "nice" strand or the "best one," you are headed for trouble. "Matching" is a problem also. For instance, in the translucent stones, the beads can be from the same uncut rough, but the larger ones might be a different shade because they let less light through. Hard to match the 4mm to the 8mm. Stones will also vary from batch to batch, so we will have trouble matching "the last hatch" as it were. Even more trouble trying to. |

| Don't
expect your sodalite beads to be perfectly round and wonderfully
drilled. Sodalite is a rock -- not a mineral but a combination of minerals -- and rocks are harder to cut, shape and drill. It can break where the streaks of white calcite run through it. Sometimes it is as much a gray as it is a blue. We wish this were not so and it concerns me, except we have customers who don't care about the colors, only the healing qualities. |

Turquoise Howlite is dyed white howlite. Will the dye come off? It might. All over your neck. And while we are on the subject, many of the other stones are treated or dyed in various ways. Want to know more about it? Get a book on the subject, or take the easy route and call me up and yell at me. |
