These strands are usually strung on monofilament (fishline) without a clasp. Unless noted otherwise, they are usually about 15 - 16 inches long. Snowflake obsidian is volcanic glass.
Many of these beads are also in the semi-precious mix and so qualify for that pricebreak. If you find a strand of Chinese beads with a cheap clasp on it, it is probably an heirloom. In the early 90's (The Bush One Reign) a duty was enforced on unfinished strands of beads coming from Chinese so the Chinese started putting on real cheap clasps to get around it.
