Our company poem was Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas,
which replaced Robert Frost's beautiful but soft Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.
That one eventually seemed a wimpy invitation to the Barbarians
to storm the gate any time they liked.
I can see them in the distance.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
