Stringing wire comes in a diameter, not a gauge, so it is thicker as the number goes up. .020 is the one I used the most. It's thin enough to go through most beads yet strong enough to hang a birdhouse. Plastic coated stainless steel wire. It even has the manufacturer's info right on the label.
